Wonder Years Montessori School opened its doors in Arcadia, California in 1990. Since then, the school has thrived, providing quality early childhood education for children ages 2 thru 6 for almost three decades! Our School has become a fixture in the San Gabriel Valley while serving the important needs of parents in this wonderful community.
Our program largely follows the Montessori method of teaching, which is a child-centered approach that focuses on each child's individual creativity and progress in a structured environment. Encouragement is given to each child to initiate their own learning in a setting supported by his/her teachers and peers.
Each of our classrooms are filled with Montessori materials or "jobs" as the children like to call them, each which serves its own specific objective such as developing sensory and fine motor skills, caring for oneself, discovering problem solving technique, working with others and increasing concentration span. Our balanced curriculum also focuses on reading, math, history, geography, science, art activities, Spanish lessons and much more.
Through our daily classroom activity and interaction, our goal is to provide a nurturing and caring environment, utilizing methods that allow for critical thinking, organized thought, independence, confidence and preparation for high academic achievement for years to come.
We also impart on our students the importance of good manners, right vs. wrong, the proper way to conduct oneself with respect for self and others, and the virtue of good character. Our school aims to develop well-rounded little individuals who are socially, academically, and mentally prepared to take on their elementary school years with confidence and excitement!
